CampusWash is committed to providing a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment for all users. We take safety seriously and have zero tolerance for harassment, discrimination, or any form of harmful behavior.
2. Prohibited Behavior
The following behaviors are strictly prohibited on CampusWash:
- Harassment: Any unwanted, offensive, or threatening communication or behavior
- Discrimination: Treating someone differently based on race, gender, religion, sexual orientation, or other protected characteristics
- Inappropriate Contact: Attempting to contact users outside the platform for non-service-related purposes
- Verbal Abuse: Using offensive, profane, or threatening language
- Physical Harassment: Any form of physical intimidation or unwanted physical contact
- Stalking: Repeated, unwanted attention or following
- Sexual Harassment: Unwanted sexual advances, comments, or behavior
- Fraud: Misrepresenting services, prices, or personal information
3. Privacy and Personal Information
CampusWash is designed to protect your privacy. We never share full names or room numbers. However, you should still take precautions:
- Never share your room number or exact location outside the platform
- Use the in-app messaging system rather than sharing personal contact information
- Report any user who requests personal information inappropriately
- Trust your instincts—if something feels wrong, cancel the job and report it
4. Safe Meeting Practices
For Users (Pickup/Delivery)
- Leave laundry in a designated, safe location (e.g., outside your door)
- You don't need to be present for pickup or delivery
- If you prefer to meet in person, choose a public location in your building
- Let a roommate or friend know if you're meeting someone
For Washers
- Respect the user's preferred pickup/delivery method
- Never enter a user's room without explicit permission
- Communicate clearly about pickup and delivery times
- Handle items with care and respect
5. Female-Only Washer Preference
Female users may request female washers only for their comfort and safety. This preference is respected and enforced by the platform. Washers who identify as female can indicate this in their profile to be matched with users who have this preference.
6. Reporting Incidents
If you experience or witness any prohibited behavior, please report it immediately:
- Use the "Report Incident" button in the job details or chat
- Provide as much detail as possible about what happened
- Include screenshots or evidence if available
- For emergencies, call 911 or your campus police/security
All reports are taken seriously and will be reviewed by our admin team. We will take appropriate action, which may include warnings, temporary restrictions, or permanent bans.
7. Consequences of Violations
Violations of this policy may result in:
- Warning: First-time minor violations may result in a warning
- Temporary Restriction: Repeated violations or moderate offenses may result in temporary account restrictions
- Permanent Ban: Serious violations, harassment, or repeated offenses may result in permanent account termination
- Legal Action: In cases of illegal activity, we may report to law enforcement
8. Code of Conduct for Washers
Washers agree to:
- Complete jobs professionally and on time
- Handle items with care and follow care instructions
- Communicate clearly and respectfully
- Respect user privacy and boundaries
- Report any issues or concerns immediately
- Never use the platform to harass or contact users inappropriately
9. Emergency Resources
If you are in immediate danger, call 911 or your campus police/security.
Additional resources: contact your campus counseling center, title IX office, or student conduct office for support and reporting options.
10. Platform Safety Features
CampusWash includes several safety features:
- .edu email verification for all users
- In-app messaging (no need to share personal contact info)
- Privacy protection (no full names or room numbers shared)
- Rating and review system to build trust
- Incident reporting system
- Admin monitoring and response
11. Your Responsibility
While CampusWash works to maintain a safe platform, you are responsible for your own safety. Trust your instincts, report concerning behavior, and use common sense when interacting with others. If something feels wrong, it probably is.
